Yoga Saturday mornings

Just a quick reminder for yoga on Saturday mornings.
A great way to dissolve the tension from the week and start the weekend in a more relaxed way.

It costs $5 for the hall and Andrew is happy for you to pay whatever amount you are able to pay for his very good yoga session. (I pay $10.) Even free if you can only manage the $5 hall fee.

So, get to the hall at 8.50 for a 9am start every Saturday. (8am-9:30am from 28th November onwards.)

All levels will benefit, from beginner to advanced as Andrew gives you the options that you can manage.
So, if you have always wanted to try yoga this is a great opportunity for you.

The sausage sizzle with a quick brainstorming session for future events/activities at the hall is all set for 4pm this afternoon (10th October 2020). Gold coin donation.

Be good to see you there.
See you soon,

Michelle

Tree Planting Gheerulla Hall 9:30am 28th July

Sunday 28 July 9:30am at the hall

Following last year’s successful planting of amenity trees on National Tree Day, we’ve decided to do it again to finish off the grounds. We have trees. We have equipment. We have dug holes. We have fertilizer and water-holding stuff. Dave has made a garden bed. Everything else will be provided. Now all we need is YOU! Yes, you have the opportunity to make a contribution to the future of the planet by sticking a tree back in the ground at the Hall. Mother Earth will bless you for it, and the faeries and dryads and hamadryads will materialize and give good cosmic energies to the place. You may even see unicorns. Then bring your sausie or vegan pattie and have a BBQ. There may be cake. Or not. But there will be tea and coffee!

Ciao all!

Gheerulla Hall AGM on Friday at 5pm

Hi All

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) is this Friday afternoon 29th of March, about 5pm. The hall is progressing well. Lots of things are happening, but for the momentum to continue the workload needs to be redistributed . The committee only meets four times  a year. Most decisions are made by email .

Be a part of this historic tradition!!  There will be a BBQ afterwards so bring your sossies or tofu and we’ll have a bit of nosh and community group hug.

Download nomination forms for the committee. Or if you can’t open the form just give me (Kathy) the details and I’ll fill it in and you can sign on the night.  Of course just like vampires, we do love a bit of new blood….  so feel free to bring along a few friends.  One has to pay one’s membership by the night to be considered a financial member but you can pay on the night so you’re entitled to vote.  We don’t gerrymander here. Or have Russian input.  And no political party affiliations!!!!  Or campaigning!  You’ll have enough of that in May.

See you on Friday.

Computer Help and Uplifting talks on Friday

Hi Folks,

There will be a Computer Help session at Gheerulla Hall at 10am this Friday 15th February (the 3rd Friday of each month), followed by Uplifting Talks at 11am (why the common belief that everything is getting worse is mistaken).

Both sessions are free (though I encourage you to make a gold coin donation to Gheerulla Hall for giving us the space for this — donations go to the hall, not to me).

I’ve recently spent a while removing some nasty software from a cheap PendoPad tablet computer I bought at Nambour Post Office. I’ll show you how to remove such things and what to look out for. If you bring along your tablet we can check to see if it has any malware on it, and remove it.

For the uplifting talks I was thinking of showing a short video on how we’ve solved the problem of the population explosion and how cheap robots in space can save our planet… and how they already are.

I’ll bring coffee, tea, cocoa, cup-a-soup, and some light snacks.

You bring whatever you want and whoever you want.

Gheerulla Hall Annual Cent Auction

Yes, it’s that day in December that so many of you are waiting for!! And I don’t mean Christmas! Yes, it’s the much awaited,

GHEERULLA HALL ANNUAL
CENT AUCTION!!
Friday 7th December 2018

So, empty the coin jar, throw in a few folding ones, and chuff off to the Hall for this signature event. Favoured by celebrities and locals alike, the Cent Sale has to be experienced to believed.

Kick off the evening with a sausage sizzle from our resident BBQ King, Dennis at 5 pm, and then you have an hour to rip up your tickets before the Sale starts at 6pm. Lets not let all the prizes go to travellers from far away this time!! Tea and coffee and bikkies available too. If you don’t know how it works, come along and learn. I’ll teach you.

We’re still accepting donations of new, second-hand but good quality goods. So clean out your cupboards of those things you don’t use, presents you’ve received donkeys years ago, that bit of small furniture you keep tripping over, or make a cake or slice. Goods can be delivered to the Hall anytime Friday. Or come along and be a runner. Any one available to help set up,or be a runner, (or MC), let me know.

See you Friday.

Pollyanna’s occasional update

Well darlings just a note to let you know that after yoga tomorrow (Saturday approx 11.00 am) the Reiki girls will be having a cuppa at the Hall and offering to give anyone who wants to try Reiki a little free session. Free I think but you could of course always pop a penny in the jar cos that’s how things work.

And you also need to keep in mind the upcoming Annual Gheerulla Hall Cent Auction of world renown. More details to follow but mark the date Friday 7 December with Dennis’ famous sos sizzle kicking off the proceedings at 5 and cent sale from 6 pm. All donations gratefully accepted.

And if this sounds a little breathless it’s because I appear to have lost the comma on my keyboard somehow.
