Calling for nominations for Management Committee

Yes, looking forward to the AGM on 23rd March at 5.00 pm at the Hall!

For those of you who comprendez AGMs, you will know that all Management Committee positions become vacant at the AGM, and we elect a new lot. Unlike Russia where the leader of the State gets continually re-elected.

Here is a notice of the AGM (PDF document), and a Committee Nomination form (PDF document) if anyone wants to nominate anyone else.  Go on be enthusiastic. You may have something to offer.  If you’ve always wondered what all this committeee business is all about, now is the time to find out, with a caring, supportive group who can mentor you through the vagaries of stuff.

Ideally, the form should be in writing, signed by two nominators, and signed by the nominee themself that they accept the nomination.  You can print out the form, fill it in, scan and send it back; or just email your nomination to gheerullahall1@gmail.com and I will sort out the rest.  You can also nominate yourself, if you wish, and I’ll take care of the rest.

A list of the nominees will be displayed at the hall for 7 days prior to the meeting.  If you’re thinking being on the committee is too onerous, technically we only to meet every four months, which is not that onerous.  And we can include inducements of the imbibing kind?

There will be drinky-poos and delicacies afterwards.  And scintillating company. Tell me if you want to bring a plate.

You can even follow etiquette and RSVP.

Yours,

Pollyanna

(Apologies from Miriam who forgot to post this nearly a week ago.)

Writing Group reminder

The Writing Group will be meeting, as usual, at the hall on the 1st Wednesday of the month.

11am, Wednesday 7th March, 2018
Free (gold coin donation to the Hall is optional)

I’ll provide tea, coffee, cocoa, cup-a-soup, and probably potato crisps. Bring yourselves, any stories you might feel like reading out, your thoughts on publishing, and how to make yourself write when you don’t feel like it. Also welcome are any ideas on genres, story formatting, writing tricks and techniques, and anything else you might be interested in that is connected with writing fiction or non-fiction.

See you there!
