Hi all and welcome to 2018 with a new look committee!
Yes, the AGM was accomplished in fine form, with lots of willing newcomers ready to test their mettle. Our new Committee:
President: David Badgery
Vice president: Kathy Mullins
Secretary: Mary Ann Law
Treasurer: Don Law
Committee Members: Libby Rough, Susan Rough, Lucas Johnson, Robyn Pfeiffer, Heather Wagner.
And if that’s not a good-looking line up, I don’t know what is. So we can look forward to an exciting year.
General Maintenance and Working Bees
After several hundred mm of rain, our grounds were looking fairly shaggy, and we were about to put out an all-out call for a working bee for mowers, edgers, and the rest. Thanks to Kerry Falconer who spontaneously appeared and mowed the whole grounds!! So the immediate urgency to clean up the grounds has a bit of breathing space. But the need is ongoing, and now the ramp is finished, we would like to plant up a bit of a garden in the front. So one Saturday after yoga………..(date to be announced.)
Ongoing classes:
Yoga on Saturday mornings and Monday nights; Global drumming with Ziko on Tuesday nights; Line Dancing on Wednesday mornings; Fitness on Thursday mornings. No excuse not to be cool, calm, taut and trim.
Table Tennis, anyone?
Yup. Treasurer of the day, Don has finally committed to organising table tennis sessions. This will be on Thursdays, from 4.00 pm, but you need to contact him first. Phone:

I could say a lot more, but I’m busy, so it will have to wait until the next missive. Which will be flash and glamorous. Like me. In the meantime, I’m off to the Sunshine coast Ukulele Fest this coming weekend. http://www.sunshinecoastukulelefest.com . Four days (19th-22nd April) of music, workshops, some yoga and meditation thrown in, bit of singing. Right here in Lower Gheerulla.
Working bee, Saturday 28 April, 11.00 am (after yoga)
Yes, it will be the Saturday after Anzac Day;
- Bring ye mowers, whippersnippers, secateurs, spades (we plan to put in a small garden between the hall and ramp and the path, and maybe around the old septic tank hazard),
- And if you have a chainsaw fetish, there are a few loose boughs you can take home for the fire
- Inside the hall can always do with a bit of spit and polish, and pursuit of arachnids
- or you can just come and make tea for us all.
- Bring your lunch
- don may give us a demo of his Table Tennis prowess to inspire
Better still, come to yoga beforehand at 9:30 and experience physical delight and mental bliss, to put you in an enthusiastic frame of mind!
Yours,
Pollyanna
