Just a quick note to say there won’t be a Computer Help session or Uplifting Talks on 21st of December. They will next be on 18th January 2019.
Have a happy end of year, everybody.

Hi friends
This is the wrap-up for the Cent Sale. I think you’ll all agree it was a lot of fun and a great success. There was a good variety of prizes including home made cakes , bottles of wine and some quite valuable major prizes. Thanks to Heather and her band of helpers. I will be sending a thank you note to prize donors.
Thanks for your support through the year . I’m looking forward to an eventful year at Gheerulla Hall in 2019.
Hope you have a Happy Christmas and catch up with your family and friends.
Best Wishes
Mary Ann
Yes, it’s that day in December that so many of you are waiting for!! And I don’t mean Christmas! Yes, it’s the much awaited,
So, empty the coin jar, throw in a few folding ones, and chuff off to the Hall for this signature event. Favoured by celebrities and locals alike, the Cent Sale has to be experienced to believed.
Kick off the evening with a sausage sizzle from our resident BBQ King, Dennis at 5 pm, and then you have an hour to rip up your tickets before the Sale starts at 6pm. Lets not let all the prizes go to travellers from far away this time!! Tea and coffee and bikkies available too. If you don’t know how it works, come along and learn. I’ll teach you.
We’re still accepting donations of new, second-hand but good quality goods. So clean out your cupboards of those things you don’t use, presents you’ve received donkeys years ago, that bit of small furniture you keep tripping over, or make a cake or slice. Goods can be delivered to the Hall anytime Friday. Or come along and be a runner. Any one available to help set up,or be a runner, (or MC), let me know.
See you Friday.

Well darlings just a note to let you know that after yoga tomorrow (Saturday approx 11.00 am) the Reiki girls will be having a cuppa at the Hall and offering to give anyone who wants to try Reiki a little free session. Free I think but you could of course always pop a penny in the jar cos that’s how things work.
And you also need to keep in mind the upcoming Annual Gheerulla Hall Cent Auction of world renown. More details to follow but mark the date Friday 7 December with Dennis’ famous sos sizzle kicking off the proceedings at 5 and cent sale from 6 pm. All donations gratefully accepted.
And if this sounds a little breathless it’s because I appear to have lost the comma on my keyboard somehow.

Don’t forget that we’re having the Computer Help session at 10am on Friday morning, then after that, at 11am we’ll see some Uplifting Talks and Videos.
These sessions are FREE.
(I encourage an optional gold coin donation to the hall, though)
Computer Help
Do you have some problem with your desktop computer, tablet, or phone?
I’ll attempt to solve it for you.
Do you want to learn how best to use your computer? Did you know you can use high quality free software to do most things on your computer. Do you want to know more about how a computer works? Do you want to find out how to fix a computer when it gives problems?
Uplifting Talks and Videos
Are you worried that the world is getting worse? Does all the depressing news on the TV, radio, and newspaper almost drive you to tears? Do you fear that the world is getting more violent and that terrorists are endangering our society?
Well, I have good news. Things have been getting better for hundreds of years, and though it might not seem like it, we live in the most peaceful time in history, with starvation, disease, and violent crime decreasing worldwide, as people become more moral and more caring of each other. Sounds delusional, doesn’t it? Well, I have the facts to back it up. Come along and see.
This is not a religious pitch and I’m not selling anything. It upsets me that people aren’t told how dramatically things are improving. I think we all need to know. It is getting remarkably better.
Hello dear Members.
It’s some time since we all got together, so perhaps before everyone gets busy, it’s time to meet up, socialise, and generally chill out. Members and Gheerulla residents welcome.
You’re invited to
Gheerulla Hall from 4.30pm, Friday 2nd November for a Community Get Together & BBQ BYO food and drinks Don ph: 041 879 5653 |
Cheers!
Your Committee.
We’ve just uploaded more photographs to the site’s “Photos” page (see the button above). These are from a celebration in 1975 when the hall looks like it was the centre of a thriving community, and an earlier one from 1959, in which the hall looks a bit sad and neglected.
Click on the “Photos” button (or this link here) and check out the growing collection of pictures. You’ll have to scroll to the bottom of that page for the new pictures.
If you have any photos, old or new, that you’d like to share with the community, let us know and we’ll scan them and add them to the Photos page.

Our lovely yoga teacher, Claire, has gone to India to continue her yoga, and so her Monday evening and Saturday morning yoga classes have finished. She has passed on a link to an online yoga program www.yogaglo.com which people can join up with.
As well, we have been contacted by Alison, of Abundant Yoga, www.abundantyoga.com.au, who currently teaches at Belli Hall. Alison may be starting yoga at the Hall on Saturday mornings. We are just waiting for a start date.
Yoga is alive and well at Gheerulla!!

3. FRIDAY 24: FROM 9.30 AM: Finding Your Inner Clown. Free Workshop with Coastal Caring Clowns. Because you’re old and need to laugh more.
3. SATURDAY 25: FROM 10.00 AM: Wash floors, set up chairs, final decorating? Anyone feeling inspired to contribute flowers, posies, tussie mussies, or such; OR MAKE CAKES, the angel of fortune will smile on you.
